To me, the
Farmhouse is like the end of the world from a children’s book, a place I
would write about if I were Bradbury, a place that I long for when I
need rest and peace. There is a whole lot of Nostalgia involved in what
the Farmhouse is to me. It reminds me of home, and the days that have
passed. I grew up close to nature, and then when I came to the States I
lost the connection, it seems. Here life became a race. I definitely
don’t catch myself anymore sitting on the porch socializing and watching
the time go by. I think, the Farmhouse is the only place where I can
afford such luxury and actually have someone to sit on the porch with.
At the Farmhouse I remember that seasons have smells and colors. I can
listen to the nature, stick my hands into the ground and feel the bond.
I feel like here in America we fell out of the world into the man-made
world. We can go years without touching the nature. Seasons pass without
our comprehension of the change. We’ve become too comfortable living in
boxes, too absorbed by our worries, and it could rain and snow and shine
and flood outside and we’d never even know. That is why I love the
Farmhouse – there I can reunite. Not in a way you go to a park or a road
trip (which I love also) but in a way that I see how it is possible to
live like that – a little slower pace, more appreciative and grateful
for simple things.

I will
lead
the blind by a way they do not know, in paths they do not know I will
guide them. I will
make
darkness into light before them and
rugged
places into plains. These
are the things I will do, and I will
not
leave them undone.
